Four Bucs Named NFCA First Team All-Region

LOUISVILLE, KY.- For the third straight season, four Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have been named First Team All-South Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as announced by the organization on Tuesday.  Earning the honors for their performances during a Suncoast Conference Championship season for the Bucs were pitcher Kelsi Collins, infielder Rebeca Laudino, designated player Owen Bowers, and outfielder Paris Woods

Collins heads the list after a sophomore season in which she was named both the Suncoast Conference and FCSAA Pitcher of the Year for FSW.  She finished the year 25-1 with a state best 1.15 ERA, striking out 187 in 158 innings pitched.

The 2019 Suncoast Conference Player of the Year, Laudino was electrifying atop the FSW lineup this season, leading the state with a .527 batting average and 98 hits as a freshman, 15 more than any other player in Florida.

A First Team All-State performer at the designated player spot, Bowers swung her way to First Team All-Region honors by blasting a team best 17 home runs and driving in an FCSAA high 79 runs on the year.

Woods, also a First Team All-State pick, was solid from start to finish for the Bucs in 2019.  She hit .406 with 13 doubles on the year, driving in 49 while also swiping 30 bags for FSW.

National Champions Chipola led the South Region with five First Team selections while FCSAA State Champion Central Florida had three players on the First Team.
