Collins, Stephens, Woods Earn FCSAA Year End Awards

TALLAHASSEE, FLA.- A trio of FSW Buccaneers were honored by the FCSAA last week at the annual CAA meetings as Kelsi Collins was named the FCSAA Female Athlete of the Year, Tina Stephens was named the Suncoast Conference Female Athlete of the Year, and Paris Woods was named the Suncoast Conference Student-Athlete of the Year. 

Collins was named the FCSAA Female Athlete of the Year after collecting Suncoast Conference and FCSAA Pitcher of the Year honors during her sophomore season.  She went 25-1 on the year racking up 187 strikeouts in 158 innings pitched while posting a state best 1.15 ERA for the Bucs. 

Stephens was named the Suncoast Conference Female Athlete of the Year after winning her second straight Suncoast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year award earlier this year.  The Kansas bound sophomore led the Bucs to a school record 30 wins, averaging 20 points and 7.4 rebounds in 31 games this season. 

Woods, a standout on both the softball field and in the classroom was awarded the Suncoast Conference Female Student-Athlete of the Year after being named both a First Team All-State and All-Suncoast Conference selection while also graduating from FSW with a perfect 4.00 GPA over her two year career.  On the field she hit .406 with 20 extra base hits and 49 RBI's for the Bucs while also stealing 30 bases on the year.
