Woods Named FCSAA Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, FLA.- Wrapping up the regular season with another big week, Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Paris Woods has been named the FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week as announced by the state on Tuesday.

Woods hit .571 with four RBI's and seven runs scored in three FSW wins last week.  In game one of their doubleheader against South Florida State on Tuesday, she just missed hitting for the cycle, collecting a single, double, and a home run along with four RBI's in an 11-0 win over the Panthers.  In game two of the twinbill she stole a base and scored a pair of runs, and did the same in a makeup game against Polk State on Thursday to wrap the regular season.

It is the first career Player of the Week award for Woods.  She is the fourth different Buc to be named the state's Player of the Week this season and sixth overall to receive Sunshine State honors along with two FSW pitchers.

Woods and the Bucs will look to stay sharp on Wednesday in an exhibition with the Canadian National Team at 3 PM at City of Palms Park, as they prepare for the upcoming FCSAA State Tournament where they will take on Seminole State in the first round at 4 PM on May 2nd
