Bucs' Potter Named Region VIII Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, FLA.- Florida SouthWestern State freshman Pallas Potter was nearly perfect at the plate last week and for her efforts, has been unanimously named the FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week for week 13.

Potter was unstoppable for the Bucs last week, going 8 for 9 (.889) at the plate, while reaching base in 13 of 14 plate appearances (.929).  She wasn't just getting on base though, she was doing damage.  She had two doubles and two home runs in the five games, driving in eight runs during the stretch.  She stepped up big in the Bucs biggest games of their conference season against #19 State College of Florida on Tuesday, going 5 for 5 with a pair of home runs and five RBI's against the Manatees to all but seal the conference championship for FSW.

Potter is hitting .378 with 10 doubles, six home runs, and 37 RBI's in 43 ball games on the year.

She is the seventh Buc to win a weekly state award this year and third to be named the Player of the Week.

Potter and the Bucs will be back on the field tonight as they travel to South Florida State where they look to clinch an outright Suncoast Conference Championship with at least a split.
