CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Florida SouthWestern State freshman Rebeca Laudino's is going to have to make some more room in her trophy case after being named the Fastpitch News National Player of the Week Monday, and the FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week Tuesday, she was honored by the NJCAA on Wednesday as their National Player of the Week.
Laudino was nearly unstoppable at the top of the Bucs lineup last week, reaching base 26 times in 10 FSW games, batting .629 with 12 stolen bases. She had eight multi-hit games and scored two or more runs six times for the Bucs. She was named to the NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team, going 14 for 22 (.636) with two or more hits in every game while leading the Bucs to a tournament championship.
She is the second Buc to earn NJCAA National honors this season after Kelsi Collins was named the National Pitcher of the Week earlier this year.
Laudino and the Bucs are back in action on Thursday when they head to Tampa to take on Hillsborough in their first Suncoast Conference road games of the season.
