TAMPA, Fla.- The #25 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back Tuesday night on the road in Tampa, dominating the Hillsborough Hawks 78-64 to snap a mini two game losing streak.

Early on it was the penetration of guard Jaehshon Thomas and the finishing of bigs Tyrone Baker and Yvens Paul that staked the Bucs out to a big early lead on the Hawks. The Bucs defense was locked in too, holding Hillsborough to just 34% shooting in the first half to take a 40-27 lead as the teams went to the break at half.

The Bucs put the game away early in the second as Dezdrick Lindsay threw down a dunk in transition to make it a 25 point game at 59-34 seven minutes into the half. Hillsborough made a late push with the game well in hand but it was too little too late as the Bucs finished off a 78-64 win at the final horn.

Five Bucs scored in double figures in the win including Thomas who led the way with a game high 20 and Paul who tied his career high with 17. No other statistics were available at time of release.

FSW improves to 18-6 overall and 8-2 in Citrus Conference play with the win while Hillsborough falls to  16-8 overall and 5-6 in league action.

The Bucs will be back in action on Saturday when they return home to Suncoast Arena to take on Polk State in a 2 PM matinee tip in Fort Myers.
