Oba Headed to Hornets of Delaware State

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern big man Wesley Oba has found his new home as the sophomore from Manchester, England has signed his National Letter of Intent to play at the Division I level at Delaware State University next season. 

Oba played in 28 games last season for FSW, drawing 19 starts in the front court, averaging 4.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures four times on the season including a career high 19 point performance against Florida Coastal, and also put up four games of 10 or more rebounds with his season high coming with 13 on the road against State College of Florida. Oba was efficient on the inside for the Bucs, shooting 55% from the field last season which ranked third best on the team and in the top five of the Southern Conference. 

Oba will team up with former Buc Cameron Stitt with the Hornets next season.  Delaware State made a move in the right direction last season, going 6-24 overall and 4-10 in MEAC action, it's best season in the last five years. 

Davis is the seventh FSW sophomore to sign at the Division I level this season, joining teammates Jadrian Tracey (Oregon), Tyson Brown (Rhode Island), Bradley Douglas (Arkansas-Little Rock), Jemal Davis (Central Michigan), Jordan Mitchell (Southern), and Allen Udemadu (Morgan State), and is the 13th Buc to move onto the Division I level in the past two seasons.
