FORT MYERS, Fla.- The #20 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a show for their home crowd in their final game of 2021, putting it on the visiting Illinois Central to the tune of a 93-49 victory to improve to 12-2 on the year. Six of the seven players who played for the Bucs in the win, scored in double figures including Bryant Selebangue who lit the Cougars up for 25 points on 11 of 15 shooting while tying an FSW single game record with 17 rebounds.

An early three from the top of the key from Jonathan Dos Anjos pushed the Bucs out to a 9-3 lead but Illinois Central stayed within striking distance at 15-10 at the 12:00 mark. From there it was all FSW. Aahmod Scarbrough scored on a runner to start a 17-0 run for the Bucs highlighted by three straight dunks from Bryant Selebangue and Jordan Mitchell to turn a five point game into a 22 point game at 32-10 in the blink of an eye.  Moments later Kaiyem Cleary flushed home a dunk on the break and then slashed through the lane and scored to up their lead to 26 before five straight from Dos Anjos to close the half made it a 47-18 FSW at the break.

The Bucs went through the motions early in the second while Illinois Central found some rhythm and was able to outscore FSW 20-16 through the first 10 minutes of the half.  A floater from Scarbrough and a finish from Marcus Niblack on the Bucs next possession quickly put FSW back up 30 with 8:10 to go. Selebangue continued to dominate in the paint, scoring five straight to stretch their lead to 78-45.  The Bucs rode their defense the rest of the way as FSW kept the Cougars scoreless for the final 3:45 of the contest to run away with a 93-49 win at the final horn.

A shorthanded FSW squad shot 58% as a team in their first game back out of the break.  The Bucs dressed just eight and played just seven players in the win with six of the seven scoring 12 or more points.  Selebangue led the way with 25 points on 11-15 shooting while tying the FSW single game rebounding record with 17 including 9 on the offensive end. Niblack flirted with a triple-double, going for 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in the victory while Cleary and Dos Anjos both matched Niblack's 14 in the scoring column.

FSW wins its seventh straight to improve to 12-2 on the year while Illinois Central falls to 7-5.

The Bucs scheduled game on Thursday against ASA Miami was cancelled earlier this week meaning FSW will next see action after the New Year on January 4th when they host 212 Academy in Suncoast Arena in a game set for a 7 PM tip.
