LAKE WORTH, Fla.- The #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rode their hot shooting and a career high 20 points from sophomore Jaden Campbell to a 93-74 win over Palm Beach State in their Southern Conference debut Wednesday night in Lake Worth.

It was close early on as the upset minded Panthers matched blow for blow for the Southern Conference newcomer Buccaneers to an 18-17 lead seven minutes in.  The Bucs pushed ahead before the midway point of the first, but Palm Beach kept clawing back in, eventually cutting the FSW lead to just three at the half at 40-37. As the second half got going, the Bucs caught fire.  Palm Beach needed a swivel to keep their heads moving as FSW zipped the ball around the perimeter and cashed in three after three to open up a 10 point lead midway through the second half.  The Bucs ultimately took a 23 point lead late in the contest before putting things on cruise control as they glided to a 93-74 victory.

The Bucs shot north of 50% from the field for the second straight game while lighting it up from the outside, shooting 52% on 15 of 29 from the three point line.  Jaden Campbell led the Bucs with a career high 20 while Kario Oquendo had 16 and Terry Roberts chipped in 15.

FSW improves to 5-1 on the year with the victory and picks up a win in it's first Southern Conference game in program history. Palm Beach's early season struggles continue as they fall to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in league play.

Next up is a big one for the Bucs as they host current Southern Conference leader and #16 Indian River in a matinee, noon tip at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on Saturday.
