Double-Double Machine Marshall Nabs Second FCSAA Player of the Week Honor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Putting up two more double-doubles in Buc wins last week, Florida SouthWestern forward Jermaine Marshall was rewarded once again by the FCSAA on Tuesday as he was named the state's Player of the Week for the second time in four weeks.

Marshall continued his dominating play in Suncoast Conference action last week, recording double-doubles in both of FSW's wins.  Wednesday against Polk State, he helped will the Bucs from behind with 11 points and 12 rebounds in an 81-75 victory in their first game as the nation's number one team this season.  Saturday he was even better, putting up a career high 22 points on 8-13 shooting while ripping down another 12 boards to push the Bucs past St. Petersburg to clinch their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship.

Marshall has recorded double-doubles in eight of FSW's nine Suncoast Conference games, averaging 14.7 points and 11.1 rebounds per game in conference play.  Overall on the year, the freshman is sitting at 9.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game while shooting 48% from the field.  At his current pace, Marshall should have a chance to break FSW's single season rebounding  record of 247 this year, currently sitting at 220 with at least four games left to play.

Marshall and the Bucs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Hillsborough to take on the Hawks in a 7:30 tip from Tampa.
