DAVIE, Fla.- The #3 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rolled to two blowout wins in less than 24 hours this weekend, first dismantling Triple Threat Prep 98-48 Friday before putting it on Wayne County 92-54 to improve to 4-0 on the year.

The Bucs had prepared Friday for Baltimore City Community College, who like them, was at the NJCAA National Tournament just two years ago.  However, less than 24 hours before tip off, FSW learned that the Panthers had actually cancelled their 2019-20 season and instead, they would be taking on Miami's Triple Threat Prep Academy.

The Bucs went with a different starting lineup than they played opening weekend and it didn't work out early on, as FSW found themselves ahead just three at 20-17 midway through the first half. The regulars found their way in at that point and from there, it was all Purple and Aqua.  FSW outscored Triple Threat 25-4 into the half, blowing the game wide open to 45-21 at the break.

It was more of the same in the second for the Bucs as they continued to pour it on Triple Threat until finally finishing them off 98-48 at the final horn.

Six different players reached double figures in scoring for the Bucs including Terry Roberts who led them with 14 and Simeon Kirkland who scored all 10 of his in the second half.

On day two of the classic, hosted by Broward College, FSW squared off with Michigan's Wayne County Community College. After a slow start by both sides, a quick burst by FSW put them up 6-0 and then never looked back.  An 11-0 run midway through the first half stretched the Bucs lead to 27-8 and at the break it was all FSW at 45-20.

While the Bucs were efficient offensively, shooting 50% from the field, it was their defense that suffocated the Wildcats, holding Wayne County to just seven first half field goals on 30% shooting while forcing 16 turnovers which they turned into 22 points.

With the big lead, FSW came out lethargic in the second half and Wayne County took advantage, shaving 10 points off the Bucs lead before an animated Eric Murphy called a timeout to discuss matters with his team. The message was well taken as the Bucs held the Wildcats without a field goal for the next six minutes, opening their advantage back up to 22 at 64-42 with under 8:00 remaining. From there it was showtime for the Bucs who played above the rim with an array of high flying dunks before finally ending things with a 92-54 win to improve to 4-0 on the year.

Five Bucs scored in double figures in the win, led by Jalen Finch who paced the club with 13 points and 8 assists in 27 minutes of action.  FSW dominated every statistical category in the victory, outscoring the Wildcats 36-8 in points off of turnovers, 46-16 in points in the paint, and 53-25 in points from their bench.
