Figueroa & Thomas Earn NJCAA All-American Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern Baseball program had a pair of firsts on Monday as Victor Figueroa became the Bucs first 1st Team NJCAA All-American hitter in program history while Figueroa and Justin Thomas became the first FSW duo to both be named to the NJCAA All-American team in the same season.

Figueroa will forever hold the distinction of being the Bucs first 1st Team All-American hitter, joining 2021 first teamer, closer Antonio Knowles as the only two 1st Team All-Americans in program history. The Bucs slugger had a season for the ages, becoming the first FCSAA hitter to win the Triple Crown since the 2017 season, hitting .421 with 17 home runs and 79 RBIs on the year.  He set new FSW single season records with his .421 average while also putting himself at the top of the Bucs single season hits (88) and RBIs (79) lists. With the honor, Figueroa becomes the most decorated player in FSW Baseball history, earning 1st Team All-American, FCSAA and Citrus Conference Player of the Year, as well as 1st Team All-FCSAA and Citrus Conference accolades.  He will play next season at the University of Pittsburgh.

Thomas had an equally impressive year in 2024 for the Bucs, earning himself 3rd Team All-American honors.  Thomas stuffed the stat sheet, hitting .393 with 21 doubles, 14 home runs, and 35 stolen bases making him the only FSW player in program history to hit 10 or more home runs and steal 30 or more bases in a single season.  Thomas had nearly three times as many multi-hit games (26) as games without a hit this season (9) and closed his Buccaneer career on a nine game hitting streak including recording two or more hits in five of those contests. His 86 runs scored this season shattered the previous program single season record while his 86 hits was bested by only Figueroa's 88. He will play next season at the University of Arkansas.

With Figueroa and Thomas' selections, the Bucs have now had an NJCAA All-American for five consecutive seasons after going without one for the first four years of the program.
