Medina Signs With Radford
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern slugger Ronny Medina has signed to play for the Radford Highlanders next season, making him the eighth Division I signee on the Buccaneers 2022 roster.

A three year starter for the Bucs, Medina's name is splattered all over the FSW record books as he ranks in the top five in program history in runs, stolen bases, home runs, and RBIs. He needs just one more home run to tie Christian Lucio for the top spot on the Bucs career home run list with 12.

This season, despite being slowed with a nagging injury, Medina has hit .305 with a .942 OPS while cracking seven doubles, five home runs, and driving in 25.

Medina and the Bucs are red hot, having won 18 of their last 19 to sit at 30-12 as they hit the stretch run of the 2022 season. FSW has dominated Suncoast Conference play and heads into Friday's series finale with Hillsborough with a 17-3 mark in league play, 5 1/2 games better than the field as they look to wrap up their third consecutive Conference Championship.

When Medina joins Radford for the 2022-2023 season, it will mark the third consecutive year the Highlanders have a Buc on their roster, joining Connor Bagnieski (2020-21), and Ty Burton (2021-22).  The Highlanders have struggled this season, going just 8-20 while beginning Big South Conference play 2-7.

Medina is the eighth Division I and tenth overall signee for the Bucs this season, joining Magnus Ellerts (Florida), Ben Peterson (North Carolina), Jose Izarra (Dallas Baptist), Grant Besser (Rutgers), Riley Skeen (South Florida), Matthew Corpas (Florida International), Nicholas Regalado (FGCU), Frank Elissalt (Nova Southeastern), and Kalvin Alexander (Georgia Southwestern).
