Medina's Slams Earn Him FCSAA Player of the Week Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After clubbing a pair of grand slams in a win against #8 Miami Dade and popping another long ball in the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers opening game of the Perfect Game Juco Classic, third baseman Ronny Medina has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as announced by the state on Tuesday.

Medina is hitting .308 on the year with an NJCAA best 14 RBIs through nine games.  His three home runs on the year leads the Bucs while his five stolen bases is second best on the club.  Medina's Player of the Week honors mostly stem from one, very big, game for the sophomore.  On Wednesday against #8 Miami Dade, Medina put together the best single game of any FSW hitter in program history, going 4-6 with not one, but two grand slams in a blowout of the Sharks, finishing the game with nine RBIs and 11 total bases in the victory.

Medina and the Bucs are off to a perfect 9-0 start to the 2022 season including three wins over NJCAA Top 20 ranked opponents and a tournament Championship at the Perfect Game Juco Classic in Panama City last weekend.

FSW is back in action Wednesday with another Top 20 matchup with Miami Dade when they host the Sharks at 2 PM at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers.
