Bucs Up a Spot to #12 in National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- On the heels of a 3-1 week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have moved up one spot to #12 in the NJCAA National Rankings as announced by the National Office on Tuesday.

The Bucs move up to #12 after taking a series 2-1 over Hillsborough and defeating Polk State in the first game of their three game set on Saturday.  After a win on Monday, FSW sits at 39-12 overall and 20-9 in Suncoast Conference play with one game left to go.  The Bucs have already clinched their first trip to the FCSAA State Tournament with Monday's win and will look to lock up their first outright Conference Championship in program history with a win Wednesday at Polk State.

There was lots of movement in the week nine poll, with only #1 Wabash Valley and #10 Iowa Western holding their spots in the top 20.  Central Florida, Gordon State, Walters State, and McLennan all moved up to round out the top five.  Wallace-Dothan and Northwest Florida State each dropped four spots to #6 and #7 respectively this week while Jefferson made the biggest move up, from #19 to #16.

After failing to be ranked in the first three years of the programs existence, the Bucs have now been ranked inside the top 15 all nine weeks of the 2019 regular season with this week's move to #12.

FSW will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday in Winter Haven where they will take on Polk State.  A win, or a State College of Florida loss clinches an outright Suncoast Conference Championship for the Bucs.
