Baziquetto-Allen Earns AVCA National Coach of the Year Award

LEXINGTON, Ky.- Florida SouthWestern Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen earned the highest honor of any coach at the two-year level on Wednesday as the Bucs fourth year Head Coach was named the AVCA Two-Year National Coach of the Year.  Baziquetto-Allen was chosen from finalists for the award from all three two-year factions (NJCAA, CCCAA, NWAC), including all three levels of the NJCAA.

Baziquetto-Allen led FSW to it's first NJCAA National Championship in just it's third year as a program in 2022 as the Bucs finished 27-1 overall.  During the regular season FSW won it's third straight Suncoast Conference Championship with a 13-1 record and spent seven of the eight weeks of the regular season ranked #1 in the NJCAA National Poll. The Bucs started their postseason run by earning a bye and sweeping both matches at the FCSAA State Tournament to earn their first State Championship and went to the NJCAA National Tournament as the top seed and defended it, dropping just one set in four matches in route to their first National Championship.  Baziquetto-Allen adds to an already impressive list of 2022 accolades that now includes Suncoast Conference, FCSAA, NJCAA Southeast District, AVCA Southeast Region, and NJCAA National Coach of the  Year honors as well as being named the Coach of the Tournament at the NJCAA National Tournament.

In four seasons with the Bucs, Baziquetto-Allen has put together an 88-23 overall record and a 41-3 record in Suncoast Conference play while leading FSW to three straight Top 10 finishes at the NJCAA National Tournament.
