Bucs Wrap Regular Season Ranked #1 For Second Straight Year
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Riding a six game winning streak to close out the regular season, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will head into the NJCAA postseason as the #1 ranked team in the country for the second straight season as announced by the National Office on Monday.

FSW picked up two more big wins over 2021 National Tournament teams last week to wrap up the regular season 21-1 overall, making them the only one loss team in the NJCAA Division I ranks during the regular season.  Tuesday the Bucs won a thrilling five set match against #6 and rival Miami Dade to clinch their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship.  Thursday in their regular season finale they cruised to a 3-0 win over Polk State on Sophomore Night in Fort Myers.

With the #1 ranking, the Bucs have now been ranked #1 in the NJCAA National Poll for 15 of the last 17 weeks the past two seasons.

There was only one change in the Top 11 in week 10 as FSW, Indian Hills, Salt Lake, Western Nebraska, and Central Wyoming continue to pace the group while the only movement from last week came at #6 and #7 where Missouri State-West Plains switched places with Miami Dade.  Five FCSAA teams were ranked in the Top 20 this week with FSW at #1, Miami Dade at #7, Daytona State at #15, Eastern Florida at #17, and Hillsborough at #18.  All five will take part in this weekend's FCSAA State Tournament in Melbourne.

The Bucs are two wins away from punching their ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament in West Plains, Missouri, with their first chance to capture one of those two needed victories on Friday at 6 PM when they will take on the winner of the Hillsborough/Eastern Florida first round matchup in the FCSAA Semifinals at 6 PM in Melbourne.
