Back to Back 20 Kill Efforts Earn De Sa Player of the Week Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- For the second time in her FSW career, sophomore outside hitter Julia De Sa has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week.

Her big week started last Tuesday as she dialed up a career high and single game school record 22 kills to lead FSW from 1-0 down, to defeat Hillsborough and finish their undefeated Suncoast Conference season.  Three days later on the road at Indian River she hit the 20 kill mark again, registering a 20 kill, 15 dig double-double for the Bucs against the Pioneers.  On the week she averaged 5.25 kills per set and .298 on the pin.  She also chipped in on the defensive end, recording just under 3.00 digs per set and also picking up a pair of blocks.

De Sa ranks third in the state with 227 kills on the season and has the second best hitting percentage of any player in the state with 200 or more kills at .280.

De Sa and the Bucs finished the regular season 16-4 and are ranked 7th in the latest NJCAA National Rankings.

The Bucs will be back in action next Thursday when they head to Jacksonville and the FCSAA State Tournament where they will begin their quest for their first State Championship in program history.
