Bucs Rebounding King Signs With Morehead
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern freshman Blessing King is headed to the Division I level after an All-Conference season with the Bucs as the 5'10 forward has signed with Morehead State University.

King had a huge freshman season for the Bucs in 2022-2023, becoming the first player in program history to average a double-double, putting up 10.4 points and 13.7 rebounds per game for FSW.  She was even more dominant in Southern Conference play, upping her output to 10.6 points and 15.7 boards per contest.  Her 13.7 rebounds per game ranked 3rd in the NJCAA DIvision I ranks this season while her 316 total rebounds on the year shattered the Bucs single season record despite her missing six games due to injury. She holds each of the top five spots in program single game history with five 20+ rebound games including a record 23 boards late in the season against Hillsborough.

King will join a Morehead squad coming off of an 11-20 campaign while putting up a 6-12 mark in Ohio Valley Conference action. The Eagles coaching staff has extensive NJCAA ties as Head Coach Cayla Petree spent time leading both the South Plains and Gulf Coast State programs while Assistant Coach Jim Turgeon brings over a decade of junior college experience to Morehead after stops at Independence, Iowa Western, and Dodge City.

King is one of seven Bucs to sign at the next level off of this year's team, joining Macarena Retamales (Florida Gulf Coast), Jayla Murray (Wichita State), Natalia Tondi (Virginia Commonwealth), Violette Skipworth (Ottawa), Shaniya Rose (USC-Beaufort), and Aaliyah Williams (Barry).
