Skipworth Headed From Sunshine State to Sunflower State at Ottawa

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Violette Skipworth is headed to the Sunflower State next season after inking a National Letter of Intent to play at Ottawa University in Kansas.

Skipworth  played in 42 games the past two seasons for FSW, averaging 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while shooting 39% from the floor and 33% from deep. She had two of her best games this season in back to back contests, combining for 19 points and 12 rebounds in Buccaneer wins over Miami Dade and Hillsborough in Southern Conference action.

She becomes the first signing for new Ottawa coach Hunter Bondurant. Last season the Braves were 18-12 overall and went 13-9 in KCAC action, reaching the Conference Tournament semifinals where they fell to Friends.

Skipworth is one of six Bucs to sign at the next level off of this year's team, joining Macarena Retamales (Florida Gulf Coast), Natalia Tondi (Virginia Commonwealth), Blessing King (Morehead State), Shaniya Rose (USC-Beaufort), and Aaliyah Williams (Barry).
