Retamales Named to FCSAA All-State Team
NICEVILLE, Fla.- For the second straight season, Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Macarena Retamales has been named to the FCSAA All-State Team as announced at the FCSAA State Tournament Wednesday night.  
 
Retamales has once again been one of the best players in the Sunshine State, ranking 5th in the state in scoring at 16.6 points per game while also ranking in the top 10 in assists with 3.4 per contest.  She has started 55 straight games for the Purple and Aqua and is FSW's all-time leader with over 2000 minutes played during her three year career.  She has scored in double figures in 25 of 28 games this season, topping the 20 point mark on 11 occasions. 
 
She becomes just the second player in program history to earn All-State honors twice, joining Tina Stephens who was on the 2018 and 2019 All-FCSAA squads. 
 
Retamales was informed of the honors just hours after FSW's big win over #9 Gulf Coast State at the FCSAA State Tournament.  
 
Retamales and the Bucs are back in action on Friday at 2 PM (EST) when they will take on #6 Northwest Florida with a trip to the State Championship game on the line.
