Bucs Stick at #19 in National Rankings

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Idle last week due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained #19 in the week four NJCAA National Rankings released on Monday.

FSW sits at 5-2 on the year after the week off and is the highest ranked two loss team in the poll this week.  The Bucs have posted their 5-2 mark against one of the most difficult schedules in the country thus far as their strength of schedule sits at #13 according to the Massey Ratings with three of their seven games coming against teams ranked inside the Top 15 in the country.

The week four poll had a heavy Florida feel to it as three of the top five and four of the top eight teams in the rankings hail from the Sunshine State with #3 Chipola, #4 Northwest Florida, and #5 Gulf Coast State as well as Eastern Florida at #8.  FSW at #19 and Indian River at #25 make numbers five and six from the FCSAA in the poll.  Trinity Valley, fresh off a win over Northwest Florida takes a strangle hold on the #1 spot in the poll with fellow Region V member Blinn checking in at #2.

The Bucs have a big week ahead of them beginning on Tuesday when they host old Suncoast Conference rival St. Petersburg in Suncoast Arena in a 5 PM tip.  They then travel to the Florida Juco Shootout in Daytona where they will take on #5 Gulf Coast State and #8 Eastern Florida Friday and Saturday.
