FSW Continues Climb to #9 in Final NJCAA Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Closing the regular season on a 24 game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers finished 9th in the final NJCAA National Rankings of the 2018-19 season released on Tuesday by the national office.  

The Bucs finished the regular season 28-2, making them one of just four teams nationally to collect 28 or more wins this season. FSW won its second straight Suncoast Conference Championship, going a perfect 9-0.  

Wabash Valley and Seward County led the final poll for the second straight week with South Plains and Trinity Valley each sliding up a spot to #3 and #4, Gulf Coast drops from #3 to #5 to round out the top five.  FSW and New Mexico jump into the final two spots in the top 10 this week with Tallahassee, Shelton State, and Hutchinson holding the 6-8 spots.  

The rankings were dominated by Region VIII with four of the top 12 and five of the top 15 teams hailing from the Sunshine State. 

The Bucs are back in action on Wednesday, March 6th when they will take on Broward in the first round of the FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament in Ocala in a 1 PM tip to kick off the tournament.
