Bucs Close Regular Season Ranked #3 in National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers wrapped up their sixth consecutive season spending all 10 weeks of the NJCAA National Rankings ranked inside the Top 5 on Monday as the Purple and Aqua remained in a familiar place at #3 in the 2024 Week 10 poll to close out the regular season.

The Bucs went 3-1 last week to wrap up the regular season with an impressive 52-6 record.  The 50 win season is the seventh in eight seasons for the Bucs, the other, a 49 win season that culminated in their first National Championship. Tuesday FSW went toe to toe with #4 Indian River, splitting with the Pioneers by scores of 8-5 and 6-3.  They wrapped up the regular season on Saturday at home on Sophomore Day, sweeping the Polk State Eagles 2-0 and 11-3 to finish off their eighth straight Conference Championship with a 39-5 mark in league action.

McLennan, Northwest Florida, and FSW make up the top three in the poll for the third straight week to close out the regular season with Temple and Salt Lake sliding up a spot to make up the Top 5. Three losses by Indian River last week dropped the Pioneers down to #7 with Central Florida remaining at #9 despite the two wins over the then, #3 ranked Pioneers, last week while Gulf Coast State stayed at #11 and Santa Fe remained #20 in the Week 10 poll.

FSW finishes the regular season with 10 wins over ranked opponents and eight wins over Top 10 ranked foes.

The Bucs will have a 10 day break before their next action when they begin their postseason run on May 8th in Clearwater at the FCSAA State Tournament.  The Bucs will find out their first round opponent on Friday.
