Drijvers Named FCSAA Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- For the first time in her Buccaneer career, Florida SouthWestern backstop Sietske Drijvers has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as released by the state on Tuesday.

Drijvers hit an even .500 in six Buccaneer games last week, ripping a pair of triples and launching three home runs while driving in 11. She started her week by going 3-5 with two triples and three runs driven in a doubleheader sweep of State College of Florida on Tuesday. Thursday against #6 Central Florida she drove in runs in both ends of the doubleheader while cracking a solo home run in game one to get the scoring started for the Bucs.  Saturday she reached base safely in two of four plate appearances in game one against Santa Fe before being moved to an unfamiliar place in the leadoff spot for game two of the doubleheader and all she did was go a perfect 3-3 with two home runs and a career high six RBIs to lead the Bucs to a sweep of the Saints.

On the season Drijvers is hitting .426 with 30 RBIs in 27 FSW games.

Drijvers and the Bucs are back in action this afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers when they host Hillsborough in a Citrus Conference doubleheader beginning at 2 PM.
