Bucs' Quarles Named NFCA Assistant Coach of the Year
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- After helping the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to back to back NJCAA National Championships, Assistant Coach Kellie Quarles has been named the NFCA National Assistant Coach of the Year.

Orchestrating one of the Nation's best offenses, Quarles helped the Bucs to another successful season with the bats in 2022 as FSW finished in the Top 10 Nationally in both batting average at .395 and runs per game with just under 9 per contest.  The long list of FSW All-Americans grew once again under Quarles guidance this season as three Bucs hitters earned NJCAA All-American honors.  That all cumulated into FSW's second straight NJCAA National Championship last Spring, making the Bucs just the second team in the past 30 seasons to repeat as Champions.

In the past two seasons, Quarles and the Bucs have amassed a 107-10 overall record while going a perfect 39-0 in Suncoast Conference action.

Along with her work on the field, Quarles also has made an impact off the diamond, handling the Bucs team academic where they had 14 NFCA Scholar Athletes this season as well as their fourth CoSIDA Academic All-American.  Outside of Softball, Quarles also volunteers her time as a sponsor for FSW's campus FCA organization.

After earning the award, Quarles has now earned National recognition in each of the past two seasons for her work, adding National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2022 to her and the Bucs staff's National Coaching Staff of the Year from the NFCA in 2021.

Quarles and the Bucs will take the field on a brand new on campus facility this Spring with their 2023 home opener expected to take place in late February.
