Bucs Close Regular Season Where They Started at #1 in National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers opened the 2022 season ranked #1 in the NJCAA National Poll and they will close the regular season ranked #1 as FSW, riding a 22 game winning streak, moved back into the top spot in the final rankings released by the NJCAA National Office on Monday.

The Bucs ended up being idle last week as all four of their games were canceled due to scheduling conflicts.  They closed the regular season at 45-4 after a 14-0 April and wrapped up their second consecutive undefeated Suncoast Conference Championship at a perfect 20-0.

There was minimal movement in the week 10 poll as FSW jumping Yavapai for the top spot was the lone change in the top seven.  The Bucs take over at #1 with Yavapai at #2, followed by Wallace State, Seminole State, and Odessa to round out the top five.  Three Top 20 ranked teams including the Bucs will take part in the upcoming NJCAA Region VIII Tournament in #1 FSW, #11 Pensacola State, and #14 Chipola, the Bucs first round opponent.

The Bucs run at a repeat of their 2021 NJCAA National Championship begins on Friday in Longwood as they match up with the 14th ranked Chipola Indians in the first round of the Region VIII Tournament at 7 PM at Boombah- Soldiers Creek Park.
