Den Duijn Signs With Railsplitters

FORT MYERS, Fla.- In the midst of a monster sophomore season with the 2nd ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, sophomore Sterre den Duijn has made her decision regarding her athletic and academic future as she has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters in Tennessee next season.

Den Duijn has played in 48 of 49 games for FSW this season, hitting .367 with 12 doubles, seven home runs, and 57 RBIs on the year, the later two both ranking second on the Bucs roster.   She has 11 multi-hit games this season including a four hit contest and has knocked in multiple runs in 15 different games including a career high six RBI game in a win over Hillsborough in Suncoast Conference play.  As a freshman den Duijn helped lead the Bucs to an NJCAA National Championship, the school's first, seeing action in 41 games including the first three at the National Tournament.

She will join a Railsplitters squad that was 32-7 on the year until a late 11 game slid has dropped them back to 32-18. LMU will go to the South Atlantic Conference Tournament as the #4 seed, opening up with Queens University Friday in the first round.

Den Duijn and the Bucs are 45-4 on the year and were a perfect 20-0 in Suncoast Conference play for the second straight season in 2022.  FSW has four more regular season games this week before heading to the NJCAA Region VIII Tournament in Sanford next week where they will open play on Friday at 7 PM against the runners-up from the Panhandle Conference in the first round.
