Bucs Speedster Tucker Named FCSAA Player of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Hitting .500 and accounting for 14 runs in six games, Florida SouthWestern freshman Shenita Tucker has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week for week eight, making her the fourth different Buccaneer bat to earn the honors in 2022.

Tucker was all over the bases for the Bucs last week, leading FSW to a perfect 6-0 record and helping the Bucs outscore their opponents 56-3.  She hit an even .500, collecting 10 hits in 20 at bats while scoring seven and driving in seven runs. Tucker started her big week with a two hit game in a 8-0 win over Polk State and two days later was a perfect 4-4 with four RBIs and four runs scored in a 17-1 blowout of St. Petersburg. Saturday she finished 3-6 in a doubleheader sweep of Hillsborough, swiping three bases against the Hawks in the process.

On the season Tucker is hitting .447 with 48 runs scored in 41 contests. She is 49-51 in stolen base attempts putting her fourth in the country in that category.

Tucker and the Bucs are back in action Tuesday night in Bradenton when they take on State College of Florida in a Suncoast Conference doubleheader beginning at 5 PM.
