Den Duijn Named FCSAA Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After leading her team to four big Suncoast Conference wins last week, Florida SouthWestern sophomore Sterre den Duijn has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week for week seven.

Den Duijn hit .750 and reached base at an .818 clip in four FSW wins last week, clubbing three doubles and driving in nine runs.  Tuesday against St. Petersburg she went 2-2 with a double and three RBIs in game one of the doubleheader before posting an odd 0-0, three walk, and two runs scored line in game two.  Saturday she was 1-3 with an RBI and a stolen base in a win over Polk State and had her best game of the week in the Bucs final contest, going a perfect 3-3 with two doubles and five RBIs in an 8-0 victory over St. Pete.

On the season den Duijn is hitting .351 with 11 doubles, six home runs, and 46 RBIs while also walking 21 times to boost her on base percentage north of .500.

She is the third different FSW hitter to be named the FCSAA Player of the Week, following in the footsteps of Laura Vigna and Feline Poot who were honored earlier this season.

Den Duijn and the Bucs will put their 14 game win streak on the line Thursday when they travel to Clearwater to take on St. Petersburg in a Suncoast Conference doubleheader beginning at 5 PM.
