FSW Takes Over #1 Spot in Week 9 Poll

FSW Takes Over #1 Spot in Week 9 Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers reclaimed the #1 spot in the NJCAA National Rankings Monday, moving back into the top after a two week stay at #2.

The Bucs are riding an 11 game winning streak which is impressive enough, but they have strung it together despite missing one of their top two pitchers in right-hander Emily Perrin who is set to return this week.  FSW is 28-3 overall on the year and rolled through the first half of Suncoast Conference play a perfect 9-0.  Last week the Bucs were in action in just one doubleheader, sweeping Hillsborough in a pair by a combined score of 26-2.

The Bucs swap with Salt Lake for #1 and #2 was the only change in the Top 6 of the poll with Howard, Butler, Central Florida, and Wallace State coming in behind the two frontrunners.  Five Florida squads continue to reside in the Top 20 with FSW at #1, Central Florida at #5, Indian River at #7, followed by Pensacola and Seminole State at #18 and #19.

FSW is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Avon Park to take on South Florida State in doubleheader action.
