O'Donnell Wins Second Straight FCSAA Pitcher of the Week Award

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- New month, same results for Florida SouthWestern State righthander Alyssa O'Donnell this week as the Buccaneers freshman pitcher went 2-0 in two starts this week without allowing an earned run to earn her second FCSAA Pitcher of the Week award as announced by the state on Tuesday.

The Bucs offense overshadowed a spectacular effort from O'Donnell on Wednesday in the Bucs 2021 home opener as she went three perfect innings, striking out a pair to earn a win over Miami Dade.  Friday, she came up big when the Bucs needed her most, spinning a four hit shutout against the #1 ranked team in the country in Central Florida, leading the Bucs to a dominating 11-0 win over the Patriots.

O'Donnell is 7-0 on the year with a microscopic 0.60 ERA in 35 innings pitched.  Her ERA is the second lowest of any pitcher in the country with over 35 innings pitched this season.

O'Donnell and the Bucs moved back into the #1 spot in the NJCAA National Poll this week with their 15-2 record on the year.  The Bucs are back in action this weekend when they travel to Columbus, Georgia to take part in the NFCA Classic with five games Friday and Saturday.
