WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The top ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers flexed their muscles once again Monday afternoon in West Palm Beach, scoring 20 runs and banging out 31 hits in just 12 innings of work to sweep a doubleheader with Keiser University and improve to 8-0 on the year.

The Bucs needed just three batters to get on the board in the top half of the 1st inning of game one of the twinbill. After Feline Poot singled to start the game, Taylor Jensen singled her home to give FSW a quick 1-0 lead.  Shanika Klett then ripped one of her two doubles in the game to drive home Jensen to make it 2-0 and Chelsea Brown picked up a two bagger of her own to bring Klett home to give FSW a 3-0 lead before Keiser even got to bat.

FSW added to their lead in the 3rd when Brown doubles home another run after a successful double steal for the Bucs to make it 5-0.

The Bucs continued to pour it on in the 4th as Klett drove home two with her second hit of the game and scored when Brown ripped her third double in four innings to make it 8-0. Later in the frame Charlotte Drijvers got in on the action to make it 9-0 and a Seahawk error gave FSW a 10-0 lead.

Emily Perrin did the rest in the circle for the Bucs, using a double play to face the minimum in the 4th before retiring the Seahawks in the order in the 5th, including a pair of strikeouts, to seal up a 10-0 run rule win for FSW.

FSW banged out 15 hits in the win, with Klett, Brown, and Drijvers combining to go a perfect 9 for 9, while Klett and Brown had five doubles and six RBIs between the two of them.  The offensive outburst for the Bucs overshadowed a dominant pitching performance by Perrin who went the distance on just 74 pitches, yielding a lone hit and striking out nine in a shutout victory to improve to 4-0 on the year.

It was different faces, same results for FSW in game two.

For the second straight game, the Bucs were on the board three batters into the game as Poot tripled to start the contest and scored on a sacrifice fly from Jensen to make it 1-0.

FSW added a run in the second on a suicide squeeze from Poot to make it 2-0.

In the 4th Poot didn't square around to bunt, but instead crushed an 0-1 pitch through the breeze and out of the park for a two run shot to cushion the Buccaneer lead to 4-0.

Keiser got on the board for the first time all day in the 5th inning of game two, using an FSW error to plate their first run and cut the Buc lead to 4-1.

The Bucs blew it open in the 6th, getting RBI knocks from Natavia Ellis and Taylor Jensen to make it a 7-1 game.

After the Seahawks got a tally in the bottom of the 6th, the Bucs scored three more times in the 7th, including a two run double from Poot to make it 10-2.

Keiser picked up a run in their final at bats, but it was far too little and too late as the Bucs sealed up a 10-3 win to sweep the doubleheader.

FSW banged out 16 hits in the win to give them 31 in the twinbill.  Poot finished 3-3 and was just a single short of the cycle with a double, a triple, and a home run, while driving in six.  Jensen had her second straight multi-hit game, going 2-4 with a double and two RBIs while Owen Bowers was 4-4 with four runs scored. Alyssa O'Donnell went four solid innings in the circle to earn her third win of the season, she allowed just one hit while fanning seven.

FSW moves to 8-0 with the sweep while Keiser falls to 0-2.

The Bucs scheduled home opener with Ave Maria was canceled due to contact tracing inside the Gyrene program, so  their next chance to take the field will be on Friday when they travel to Sanford to take part in the Seminole State Tournament.
