Laudino Named FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, FLA.- Florida SouthWestern State freshman Rebeca Laudino earned her second Player of the Week honor on Tuesday, just hours after being named the Fastpitch News National Player of the Week, she was recognized by the FCSAA and Region VIII by being selected as the state's Player of the Week. 

An on base machine, Laudino was all over the bases last week for the Bucs, finding her way on 26 times in 10 FSW contests.  She hit .629, notching eight multi-hit games on the week while stealing 12 bases, and scoring 17 runs from her leadoff spot.  She was selected to the NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team, leading the Bucs to the tournament title with a perfect 6-0 record. 

Laudino currently leads the state in batting average (.566), hits (56), and runs (45), and is in the top five in triples (3), stolen bases (28), and on base percentage (.609). 

The Bucs are back in action on Tuesday night at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers where they begin Suncoast Conference play with a 5 PM doubleheader against St. Petersburg.
