Bucs Drop One Spot In National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers dropped one spot in the NJCAA National Rankings this week to #21 after extending their winning streak to 10 games and then seeing it come to an end in overtime against #4 Daytona last week.

The Bucs started the week with a thrilling win over Indian River at home in Suncoast Credit Union Arena on Wednesday, outlasting the Pioneers 97-93 to extend their season long winning streak to 10 games. Saturday that streak came to a close as FSW slipped up late in regulation before falling 109-106 in overtime in a shooting against #4 Daytona State on the road. The Bucs move to 17-5 overall with the split and find themselves in a three way tie in the Citrus Conference standings at 7-1 after one round of conference action.

The top four in the week 10 poll remained the same as South Plains, Mineral Area, Barton, and Daytona with a combined record of 86-2 led the way with Vincennes sneaking into the top five. The Bucs are one of five Florida squads in the poll in week 10 including Daytona at #4, Northwest Florida at #7, Eastern Florida at #14, and Chipola at #19.

The Bucs will take on their second straight ranked opponent on Wednesday when they return home to take on #14 Eastern Florida in a huge Citrus Conference matchup beginning at 7 PM in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
