Davis Set to Join Chippewas
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern high flier Jemal Davis is headed back to the NCAA Division I level after signing his National Letter of Intent with the Chippewas of Central Michigan earlier this week.

Davis was a 2nd Team All-Southern Conference selection for the Bucs this season, averaging 9.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from the field in 28 games for FSW.  He scored in double figures 12 times this season including a career high 23 point outburst on 9-12 shooting in a win over Gulf Coast State.  He was also a force on the defensive end of the floor, finishing the season with 40 blocked shots which is the third most in a single season in FSW history.

Davis follows the footsteps of former Buc Ralph Bissainthe who took the exact same path Davis is on, coming to FSW after two Division I seasons, earning All-Conference honors for the Bucs, before signing and playing for the Chippewas. Upon completion of his career at Central Michigan, Bissainthe has enjoyed a successful professional career overseas.

Davis will join a Central Michigan squad coming off of a 10-21 campaign in which they went 5-13 in MAC action.

Davis is the sixth FSW sophomore to sign at the Division I level this season, joining teammates Jadrian Tracey (Oregon), Tyson Brown (Rhode Island), Bradley Douglas (Arkansas-Little Rock), Wesley Oba (Delaware State) and Allen Udemadu (Morgan State), and is the 12th Buc to move onto the Division I level in the past two seasons.
