FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a show Saturday in front of their home crowd, routing the visiting Gulf Coast State Commodores 94-71 for their fifth straight victory. The Bucs shot 61% in the second half, featuring 11 high flying dunks for FSW.  Jemal Davis scored a career high 23 and Tyson Brown posted his sixth straight double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

In a highly anticipated and rare matchup between the Bucs and Commodores, it was FSW getting off to the quick start on the back of Tyson Brown who scored the Bucs first three buckets of the ballgame to push them out to a 6-2 lead just 1:35 into the contest. Gulf Coast came back to knot things up and then took an 11-10 lead at the 14:00 mark of the first.  A three from AJ Hopkins put the Bucs back in front and then never looked back again.  Five straight from Jemal Davis upped the Bucs lead to seven and an alley oop from Bradley Douglas to Davis at the 5:00 mark of the half gave FSW a double digit lead at 29-18. Jordan Mitchell spurred the Bucs off the bench late in the half, coming in and factoring in on three straight buckets in the closing minutes, dishing assists to Tyson Brown and Bradley Douglas in the final minute to push FSW's lead to 39-24 at the break. FSW shot 53% in the half while holding Gulf Coast to just 20% shooting.

It was Wesley Oba's turn to take center stage early in the second half as the Bucs sophomore threw down dunks on back to back possessions to stretch FSW's lead to 20 at 53-33 with 14:12 to go.  Another mini burst from Davis which included a pair of dunks and a layup on the break cushioned the Bucs lead and back to back drives to the hoop from Dezdrick Lindsay had the Bucs way out in front at 65-39 with 11:29 to go. Gulf Coast had no answers for the Bucs high flying offense as Douglas found Brown for an alley oop slam and Mitchell dished a dime to Davis for a dunk of his own to take the Bucs to the under 5:00 media timeout up 79-54. Six of the Bucs final eight and seven of their final ten buckets of the night came via dunks as they finished off a 94-71 win to the delight of their home crowd.

For the second straight game, the Bucs upped their season best shooting output as they connected on 58% from the field while dishing out a season high 30 assists on 42 made baskets.  A number of Bucs had big individual performances in the win as Davis finished with a career high 23 points on 10 of 12 shooting while Brown notched his sixth straight double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Douglas narrowly missed a double-double of his own with 12 points and 9 assists.

FSW wins their fifth straight to improve to 6-3 overall while Gulf Coast falls to 8-4 on the year.
