Bucs Big Man Signs at Tulsa

FORT MYERS, Fla.- After averaging a double-double in his only season in Fort Myers, Florida SouthWestern big man Bryant Selebangue has signed to play at the University of Tulsa next season.

Selebangue was a 1st Team All-Southern Conference and FCSAA All-State selection for the Bucs this season, putting up 12.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while shooting 70% from the field.  He chalked up 16 double-doubles on the season including a stretch of nine straight midway through the year, finishing the year leading the state with his 10.1 rebounds per game.  He had three games with 17 or more boards, including setting a program single game record with 18 in an overtime win over Hillsborough.   A consistent contributor on the offensive end, Selebangue scored in double figures 23 times on the year while his 70% shooting from the floor ranked second in the state and fifth nationally.

Selebangue will join a Tulsa squad who won the American Athletic Conference in 2020 and was poised to make their first trip to the Big Dance since 2016 before Covid wiped out the postseason.  Last season the Golden Hurricane was 11-20 overall and picked up a postseason victory over Wichita State in the first round of the AAC Tournament.

Selebangue is one of five Bucs to sign at the Division I level this season joining Jonathan Dos Anjos (UTEP), Justin Archer (Radford), Kaiyem Cleary (Ball State), and Rhyjon Blackwell (McNeese State).
