Selebangue Earns Second FCSAA Player of the Week Award

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- For the second time this season, Florida SouthWestern big man Bryant Selebangue has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week, as announced by the state Tuesday morning.

Selebangue's recent tear continued last week as the 6'9 freshman notched two more double-doubles in Southern Conference wins for the Bucs, stretching his program record streak to eight games.  Selebangue was dominant in Monday's win over Hillsborough, going 8-11 from the field and scoring 16 points, while also pulling down 11 rebounds in a 90-66 FSW romp over the Hawks.  Wednesday he was at it again, this time scoring 14 on 7-8 shooting and tying his own program record with 17 rebounds off the bench in a 70-61 win for the Bucs over State College of Florida.  On the week Selebangue averaged 15 points and 14 rebounds per game while shooting 79% from the field.

Selebangue is the only player in the state of Florida to average a double-double this season.  His 10.5 rebounds per game leads the state while his 14.1 points per game rank among the state leaders as well.  His 68% shooting from the field ranks second in the Sunshine State and in the top 10 nationally.

Selebangue and the Bucs have a big week ahead of them this week as they travel to Hillsborough to take on the Hawks Wednesday night in Tampa before returning home to battle #3 Indian River Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Arena with the top spot in the Southern Conference on the line.
