Bucs Ranked 3rd in Latest NJCAA Poll

May 11, 2021- Despite beating three straight top 15 ranked teams to punch their ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers dropped two spots in this week's NJCAA National Poll to #3 after a loss to defending National Champs Chipola in the State Tournament Semifinals.

The Bucs went 4-1 last week and have won 27 of their past 28 games to move to 44-4 on the season as they head to the desert in two weeks.  FSW hammered Miami Dade 19-5 in the opening round of the FCSAA State Tournament before falling on a late home run against Chipola in the semifinals on Saturday.  In the elimination bracket of the tournament, the Bucs defeated three straight ranked opponents to survive and advance, taking down #15 Pensacola, #5 Central Florida, and #12 Indian River to win the South Atlantic B District Title to punch their ticket to the National Tournament.

There was quite a bit of shakeup in the week 14 poll as Salt Lake takes over the top spot from the Bucs and Butler jumps FSW as well to #2.  Grayson and Wallace State both move up two spots to fill in the top five behind FSW.  Central Florida made the biggest drop in week 14, falling five spots to #10 after losses to Chipola and FSW while Three Rivers made the biggest jump up, going from #19 to #13.

The Bucs will be idle for the next two weeks before heading to Yuma.  They will learn their National Tournament opponent on May 20th
