Bucs' Marshall named FCSAA Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Registering double-doubles in both of Florida SouthWestern State's Suncoast Conference wins last week, freshman forward Jermaine Marshall has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as released Tuesday morning.

Marshall continued his strong play in Suncoast Conference action this week, putting up back to back double-doubles in two FSW wins.  Wednesday against State College of Florida, he finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds to help lead the Bucs past the Manatees and on Saturday on the road at Polk he put up a big, 17 point, 15 rebound effort to move FSW to 4-0 in conference play.  In four Suncoast Conference games this season, Marshall has averaged 14.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, putting up double-doubles in all four contests.  On the season he has accomplished the feat six times.

Almost unbelievably, despite having won 51 of their past 55 games, Marshall is the first Buc in the past two seasons and the first since Tremell Murphy in February of 2018 to be named the FCSAA Player of the Week.

Marshall and the Bucs are 21-1 overall and 4-0 in Suncoast Conference play on the season, ranked #2 in last week's NJCAA Top 25 poll.

The Bucs are back in action on Wednesday as they kick off the second round of conference play on the road at St. Petersburg in a 7:30 PM tip.
