  • 44 Bucs Honored For 21-22 Academic Success

    44 Florida SouthWestern student-athletes from all five teams were honored by the NJCAA, FCSAA, Suncoast and Southern Conferences for their work in the classroom this year on Monday as the group saw awards given for NJCAA All-Academic, Academic All-State, and Academic All-Conference accolades.

    Former Florida SouthWestern All-American Keon Ellis has signed a two-way deal with the Sacramento Kings, making him the first Buccaneer in program history to make his way onto an NBA roster.

    After helping the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to 42 wins over the past two seasons, sophomore Cameron Stitt has signed his National Letter of Intent to play at Delaware State University next in 2022-2023. 
  • Former Buc Keon Ellis Participating in NBA Draft Combine

    For the past four seasons Keon Ellis has put up numbers at the college level, first earning NJCAA All-American honors for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers before moving onto the Division I level where he was an SEC All-Defensive Team selection from the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Now the former FSW star can add another line to his ever growing list of achievements as this week he is participating in the NBA Draft Combine and has already turned some more heads with the numbers he is putting up there.

    Following an All-Conference campaign with the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, sophomore Kaiyem Cleary has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Ball State Cardinals next season.

    After two seasons playing for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers in the Sunshine State, Bucs sophomore guard Rhyjon Blackwell will be headed to the Bayou State where he will suit up for the McNeese State Cowboys after signing with the Southland Conference school last week.

  • Hot Shooting Pioneers End Bucs State Tournament Run

    The #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers ran into a buzz saw in the #2 Indian River Pioneers Friday afternoon in the FCSAA State Tournament Semifinals as the Pioneers came out of the gates hitting 8 of 11 from three in the first half and shot 58% from the field and 55% from three in the game, defeating the Bucs 90-82 to end FSW's run at the tournament.  
  • Bucs Survive and Advance at State Tournament

    For 20 minutes of game action, the #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers looked like they were in trouble Wednesday night on the road in Niceville, Florida in the first round of the 2022 FCSAA State Tournament. FSW shot a dreadful 37% from the field and went just 1-9 from three in the first half and trailed by as many as 13 before roaring back in the second half for a 67-59 win over the Santa Fe Saints to advance to the tournament semifinals Friday.

    The accolades continued to pour in for Florida SouthWestern big man Bryant Selebangue on Wednesday, as prior to the Bucs State Tournament matchup with Santa Fe, he was named to the FCSAA All-State Team in a pregame ceremony.

  • FSW Heads to State Tourney as #4 Seed, Will Take On Santa Fe in Opening Round

    The #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will open the 2022 postseason as the #4 seed at the upcoming FCSAA State/NJCAA Region VIII Tournament in Niceville, Florida, drawing the Santa Fe Saints in their first round matchup next Wednesday in Raider Arena.

    The #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a show for their big home crowd of almost 1,600 Thursday night, putting up 115 points in a 115-74 win over Pasco-Hernando on Fan Appreciation Night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.

    Following a big road win at #2 Indian River Wednesday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers jumped up three spots in the final NJCAA National Rankings Tuesday, climbing to #14 to close out the regular season. 
  • Bucs Grind Out Win Over SCF

    It wasn't always pretty for the #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Tuesday night on the road in their 2022 Southern Conference finale against State College of Florida, but a grinding effort and a pair of late threes from Jonathan Dos Anjos led the Bucs to their 19th consecutive win over the Manatees, 66-63 to improve to 22-5 on the year.

  • Cleary/Alexandre Lead #17 FSW Over Miami Dade

    Kaiyem Cleary scored 21 and Klein Alexandre chipped in 14 as the #17 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers cruised to a 75-66 win over the Miami Dade Sharks Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers. 
  • #17 FSW Hammers #2 Indian River

    In their last five meetings with the Indian River Pioneers, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers just couldn't get over the hump.  Going into Wednesday's Top 20 battle between #17 FSW and #2 Indian River, the Pioneers had won five straight over the Bucs, none coming by more than five points and two needing overtime.  To say FSW was frustrated with those results may be the understatement of the year.  Wednesday, the Bucs took out those frustrations on the Pioneers, jumping out to a 6-0 lead to begin the game and never trailing, going up by as many as 19 late in the second half before finishing off a 75-66 win to net their highest ranked win in program history.

    A tough week on the court led to a tough week in the rankings for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as after climbing back up into the Top 10 of the NJCAA National Rankings last week, the Bucs were back out when Monday's poll came out as a pair of losses cost FSW seven spots to #17 in the week 13 rankings.

    A 15-0 run  late in the second half and a free throw with 1.5 seconds remaining on the clock was all it took for the visiting Hillsborough Hawks to pull off a stunning 72-71 upset against the #10 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers in Suncoast Credit Union Arena Saturday afternoon. 
  • FSW Soars Back Into Nation's Top 10

    Winners of 14 of their last 15 games, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers soared back into the Top 10 of the NJCAA Rankings on Monday, jumping up six spots from #16 to #10 with their 19-3 record this season.
  • Niblack's Career Night Not Enough as Bucs Fall in Top 10 Battle with Indian River

    Marcus Niblack scored a career high 31 points, but it wasn't enough as the #10 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers came up on the short end of a key Southern Conference matchup 83-78 to #2 Indian River Monday night in Fort Pierce.  
  • Bucs Blast Manatees in Blowout Win

    The last time the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers played at home in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, they suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to #3 Indian River for their first conference loss of the season. Saturday night in their return to their friendly confines, the Bucs took out their week long frustrations on the unsuspecting State College of Florida Manatees as FSW led 7-0 after just one minute of play and never looked back, going on to a 107-69 blowout to win their 19th game of the season. 
  • Bucs Lead Wire to Wire in Rout of Miami Dade

    After playing two straight overtime games last week, the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers needed a breather, and that is what they got Wednesday on the road at Miami Dade as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, downing the Sharks 70-54 to improve to 18-3 on the year.

    Losing their first game in 70 days cost the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers in the NJCAA National Poll this week as the Bucs dropped from #12 to #16 in the week 11 rankings.
  • Bucs Drop Overtime Heartbreaker to #3 Indian River

    For the second straight game, 40 minutes was not enough to settle things for the #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers.  But unlike Wednesday's come from behind overtime victory over Hillsborough, Saturday, they were unable to pull out the win in the extra period as #3 Indian River outlasted the Bucs on their home floor 83-78 to snap a 12 game win streak for FSW. 
  • #12 FSW Wins Overtime Thriller

    For the first 30 minutes of the #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers' game against the Hillsborough Hawks Wednesday night on the road in Tampa, nothing could go right for the Bucs and everything went right for the Hawks, to the tune of a 13 point lead for Hillsborough with 10:00 to play in the game.  That's when a light switch flipped for the Bucs and they slowly made their comeback before a three pointer with under a second remaining in regulation broke an 81-81 tie.  The ensuing plays can only be described as madness, allowing the Hawks to tie the game, but FSW regained its composure and the Bucs went on to win it 93-90 in overtime to improve to 17-2 on the season.  
  • Selebangue Earns Second FCSAA Player of the Week Award

    For the second time this season, Florida SouthWestern big man Bryant Selebangue has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week, as announced by the state Tuesday morning.
