Two Time National Champ Fontes Signs With Idaho
After winning a pair of NJCAA National Championships the past two seasons with the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, sophomore outside hitter Madu Fontes will be trading the sun and sand of Florida for the snow and mountains of the Gem State after signing her National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Idaho next season.
Bucs Shine In the Classroom This Fall
Not only did the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers student-athletes star on the court and in the field this Fall, but they were equally as good in the classroom where for the first time in Bucs Athletics history all five FSW teams posted a 3.0 or better team GPA while the Bucs 90 student-athletes combined for a school record 3.26 GPA.
Purashaj Earns AVCA National Player of the Year Honors
For the second straight year, the AVCA National Player of the Year award will reside in Fort Myers as Florida SouthWestern setter Roberta Purashaj captured the honors this season after 2022 teammate Barbara Koehler earned the award a season ago.
