    Florida SouthWestern two time NJCAA All-American Feline Poot has found her home for the final two years of her athletic and academic career as the Buccaneers National Championship shortstop will stay in South Florida after signing with NCAA Division II power Nova Southeastern University.

    Florida SouthWestern sophomore Sterre den Duijn finished off one heck of a trifecta on Wednesday as after earning 1st Team All-Conference accolades and winning her second straight NJCAA National Championship on the diamond, the Bucs third baseman was honored with sports’ ultimate achievement by being named a CoSIDA Academic All-American®, one of just nine two-year student-athletes across all sports to earn the award.

    For the fifth consecutive season, four Florida SouthWestern State Softball players were honored as NJCAA All-Americans on Tuesday as Baylee Haggard (First Team), Feline Poot (Second Team), Shenita Tucker (Third Team), and Laura Vigna (Third Team) were all named to the Nation's most prestigious squad.

    Coming off of their second straight NJCAA National Championship, four Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have been named to the NFCA All-South Region Team released on Monday.  Staff ace Baylee Haggard, Feline Poot, Charlotte Drijvers, and Laura Vigna were all picked as 1st Team selections for the Bucs, making FSW the only team in the South Region with four 1st Team picks. 
  • BACK TO BACK! Bucs Win Second Straight NJCAA National Championship

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won their second straight NJCAA National Championship Saturday afternoon in Yuma, Arizona, beating #7 McLennan by scores of 4-2 and 7-6 to become the first team to fight back to win the tournament from the elimination bracket since Chattanooga State in 2012.

    The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers continued their dramatic run at the 2022 NJCAA National Tournament on Friday, hanging on to defeat #10 Chattanooga State 7-6 before coming from behind to stun #5 Odessa 5-4 in their second game of the day to punch their ticket to the National Championship game for the second consecutive season. 
  • Vigna's Walk Off Home Run Caps Wild Late Game Comeback For FSW at National Tourney

    Ahead of Thursday night's elimination bracket quarterfinal between the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the #2 Yavapai Roughriders, FSW Head Coach Robert Iamurri had a simple message for his team before they left the team hotel "It is going to be like a 10-8 game tonight, are we going to be the ones that have 10, or are we going to be the ones that have 8" the seventh year skipper said. The game didn't play out like Iamurri forecasted originally as it was a 3-2 game in favor of the Roughriders into the 6th but both teams found their swings and combined for seven runs in the inning to make it a 7-5 game with Yavapai on top.  The Roughriders got two more in the 7th and it looked like the Bucs, and Iamurri's prediction was going to come up short as FSW found themselves down 9-6 and down to their last out of the game, but a two run single from Pallas Potter and a dropped fly ball by Yavapai in the outfield allowed the Bucs to score the equalizer and send the game to extras.  After scoreless 8th and 9th frames from both sides, Iamurri's premonition came to fruition as Laura Vigna launched her first home run of the year deep and out to center to lead off the 10th to give FSW a 10-9 victory to push the Bucs onto the Final Four of the tournament Friday. 
  • Bucs Drop Walk off Heartbreaker in NJCAA Quarters

    Just two outs away from clinching their trip to the NJCAA National Tournament winners bracket final, the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were stunned as the #5 Odessa Wranglers took advantage of their first and only real scoring chance of the game, getting a two run single in the bottom of the 7th to walk the Bucs off 2-1 and send FSW to the elimination bracket for the final three days of the tournament.

    Belle Sardja fired a three hit shutout and super sophomore Pallas Potter came through with a clutch two out RBI single in the 6th inning to break a scoreless tie as the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers blanked the #10 Chattanooga State Tigers 1-0 Wednesday to advance to the NJCAA National Tournament Quarterfinals.

    The top seeded Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers dominated from wire to wire Tuesday in the opening game of the 2022 NJCAA National Tournament, getting a two run home run from Feline Poot in the 1st inning to take an early lead and a solo shot from the slugger in the 6th to finish it off with six shutout innings from Baylee Haggard between the blasts to come away with an 8-0 run rule win over Georgia Military to begin defense of their 2021 National Championship.  
  • Bucs Earn Top Seed For National Tournament

    As if the target on their back wasn't big enough being the defending National Champions, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will have the rings enlarged next week in Yuma, Arizona as Friday the NJCAA announced that the Bucs will head to the 2022 National Tournament as the #1 seed and will take on Georgia Military in their opening round game Tuesday at 3 PM (EST).

    The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers did it the hard way, winning their third game in less than 24 hours, but they got it done, exacting revenge on the Seminole State Raiders to the tune of a 13-1 victory in the NJCAA South Atlantic District B Championship to punch their ticket back to Yuma, Arizona to defend their 2021 NJCAA National Championship.

    After back to back sluggish offensive performances to open the 2022 FCSAA State Tournament, the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took out their frustrations on the St. Petersburg Titans Sunday afternoon at Soldier's Creek Park, unloading on the Titans for nine runs in the 3rd inning in route to a 12-0 run rule win to advance to the South Atlantic District B Semifinal Sunday night against the #11 Pensacola State Pirates. 
  • Bucs Sink Pirates To Reach South Atlantic 'Ship

    The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the #11 Pensacola State Pirates planned on running into each other at the FCSAA State Tournament in Longwood this weekend, but the two didn't think it would be in an elimination game between the state's top two ranked teams.  That was the case though Sunday night under the lights as the Bucs and Pirates went blow for blow in a win or go home battle. Trailing 2-1 in the 6th inning, the Bucs plated a pair of runs to take a 3-2 lead and then staved off bases loaded rallies from Pensacola in both the 6th and 7th innings with Belle Sardja getting the biggest strikeout of her young career to end the ballgame and send the Bucs onto the NJCAA South Atlantic District B Championship Monday with a 3-2 win. 
  • Bucs Win Battle of the Titans in FCSAA First Round

    In a matchup of the NJCAA's last two National Champions, the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers outlasted the #14 Chipola Indians 4-2 Friday night in the first round of the 2022 FCSAA State Tournament. 
  • Bucs Bats Silenced In Semifinal Loss To Seminole

    The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were stunned in the FCSAA State Tournament Semifinals Saturday night in Longwood, managing just four hits in a 2-0 loss to the Seminole State Raiders to end their dreams of a state title.  The Bucs will now have to take the same route to the National Tournament as they did during their 2021 Championship run with three games in less than 24 hours starting Sunday at 1 PM when they take on Suncoast Conference rival St. Petersburg in their first elimination game. 
  • State High Seven Bucs Earn FCSAA All-State Honors

    A state high seven Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were honored by the FCSAA  with All-State selections on Wednesday as Baylee Haggard was named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Year, Feline Poot, Laura Vigna, Shenita Tucker, and Taylor Jensen were named 1st Team All-State picks and Charlotte Drijvers and McKenzie Wittenberg were 2nd Team All-State choices. 
  • Bucs Close Regular Season Where They Started at #1 in National Poll

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers opened the 2022 season ranked #1 in the NJCAA National Poll and they will close the regular season ranked #1 as FSW, riding a 22 game winning streak, moved back into the top spot in the final rankings released by the NJCAA National Office on Monday.

    After going undefeated in Suncoast Conference play yet again in 2022, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers dominated the league’s All-Conference Teams as expected on Monday as 13 players were honored by the conference including Feline Poot who was named the Player of the Year and Baylee Haggard who was named the Pitcher of the Year while Head Coach Robert Iamurri was named the league’s Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career.

    In the midst of a monster sophomore season with the 2nd ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, sophomore Sterre den Duijn has made her decision regarding her athletic and academic future as she has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters in Tennessee next season.

    Winners of 22 game in a row, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained the #2 team in the latest NJCAA National Rankings released Monday by the National Office.  
  • Bucs Finish Off Second Straight Undefeated Conference Season

    The #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers honored their historic sophomore class playing in their final home games at City of Palms Park Saturday as they took on the Polk State Eagles. The Bucs took care of business in game one 8-2 before blowing the Eagles out in game two 11-3 thanks in part to five RBIs from Feline Poot who broke the program's career RBI record with 150 in the win to finish off the sweep and wrap up the second straight undefeated conference season for FSW.
