    FSW rising sophomores Courtney Gettins and Mikayla Werahiko will represent New Zealand at the World Cup of Softball XI from July 5-10 at the ASA Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Okla. and also at the 2016 Women’s Softball World Championship that will take place in Surrey, Canada from July 15-24.

Courtney Gettins earned a spot on the first team, while Molly Roark and Marta Fuentes garnered spots on the second team.

    With the third most wins (52) of any team in the field, the Florida SouthWestern State College softball team earned the No. 5 seed in the 16-team, double-elimination National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament, as announced by the Selection Committee on Monday. The Buccaneers, who hold a 54-12 record on a season, will face No. 12 San Jacinto-South (TX) in first round action on Wednesday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. ET in St. George, Utah at the Canyons Complex.

The Buccaneers’ first round matchup with Florida State College at Jacksonville is set for an 11 a.m. start. FSW will then play the winner/loser of Game 2 at 4 p.m. on Friday.

The Buccaneers, currently 40-11 overall and in first place in the Suncoast Conference with a 13-1 league mark, received 30 points to grab the No. 15 spot in the poll.
