JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers skipped the trick and got a treat on Halloween 2019 as late Thursday, the Bucs learned that due to an NJCAA ruling, they would be replacing St. Petersburg at the FCSAA State Tournament with their first game coming Friday afternoon at 1 PM in Jacksonville against Daytona State.

It was a wild four hour stretch for FSW on Thursday who, for the last week, have been under the assumption that their inaugural campaign was over after being passed over by the tournament's at-large committee last Friday.  Thursday, the Bucs got a promising call that due to the NJCAA ruling St. Petersburg ineligible for postseason play, that it was them that would be replacing the Titans in the bracket. The ruling was later held up after an appeal, placing FSW square in the middle of the eight team bracket.

That's when the circus began as FSW then had to plan on short notice how to get their team the 300 miles from Southwest Florida to Northeast Florida Thursday night ahead of their match early Friday afternoon.

Eventually the Bucs got on the road and as of post time, are in route to Jacksonville. Stay tuned to FSWBucs.com and @FSWBucs on Twitter for updates throughout the weekend.
