JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers earned their first win of the 2023-2024 season on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, putting it to the Southern Crescent Tech Lady Tigers to the tune of an 86-31 drubbing to even their record to 1-1 at the end of the opening weekend of the year.

The first quarter was all FSW, quite literally. The Bucs scored the first 26 points of the game, quickly blowing it wide open and taking a 26-0 lead at the end of 10 minutes of action.

The second wasn't quite as lopsided, but FSW still controlled the pace, outscoring the Lady Tigers 22-10 in the period to take a 48-10 lead into the break at half.

With the game well in hand, the Bucs continued to pour it on the Lady Tigers in the third, opening up their lead to 66-23 at the end of three.

FSW put things in cruise control in the fourth and coasted to the finish line, closing out an 86-31 win for their first victory of the year.

Five Bucs scored in double figures, led by Lisa Le Roy with 15 and Makenna Shaffer who put up her second straight 10+ point performance with a dozen.

The Bucs even their record at 1-1 with the win while Southern Crescent heads home to Georgia licking their wounds after their second straight blowout loss to begin the year.

FSW will make their longest road trip of the year their next time out as they head cross country to Twin Falls, Idaho next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday where they will take part in the CSI Invitational.
