TALLAHASSEE, FLA.- Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Tina Stephens has been named to the NJCAA Region VIII First Team All-State squad as announced by the region Wednesday.
Stephens has led FSW to a 29-3 overall record in 2018-19 which has included a Suncoast Conference Championship and the programs first birth in the NJCAA National Tournament next week in Lubbock, Texas. Stephens sits fourth in the state in scoring this season at 19.6 points per game while shooting 55% from the floor which ranks 6th in Florida. On the defensive side of the ball, her 2.8 steals per game were 7th best in the state and her 7.0 rebounds per game ranked in the top 20.
Stephens and the Bucs will kick off play at the NJCAA National Tournament in the tournament's first game on Monday at 11 AM EST when they take on Cochise.
