Bucs Backcourt Duo Earns All-State Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- A pair of Florida SouthWestern guards have been named to the FCSAA All-State Team for the 2023-2024 season as sophomores Jaehshon Thomas and Dezdrick Lindsay both picked up honors announced at the NJCAA Region VIII Tournament.

Thomas put together a huge sophomore campaign for the Bucs, tying for the team lead averaging 16.0 points per game while shooting 53% from the field and 41% from the three point line on the year.  He came up huge down the stretch for FSW, scoring 20 or more points in six of his final seven games played including a 22 point effort in his final game as a Buc against #9 Northwest Florida at the FCSAA State Tournament.

Lindsay also put up 16.0 points per night, also doing so in an efficient manner, shooting an even 50% from the field and 42% from the three point line while also doubling as the Bucs leading rebounder with 7.3 a game.  Lindsay had five 20+ point efforts on the season including a trio of 30 point contests. He scored a career high 38 against #4 Daytona State to later earn him NJCAA National Player of the Week honors.

The Bucs finished the 2023-2024 season 22-9 overall and 12-4 in Citrus Conference play which was good enough for a third place finish. They had a heartbreaking end to the season, losing their final three contests by a total of five points including a one point loss to #9 Northwest Florida in the first round of the FCSAA State Tournament in Niceville.

Thomas is headed to the Division I level and Radford University next season while Lindsay will suit up for the Oregon Ducks in 2024-2025.
