Birthday Boy Lindsay Named NJCAA National Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Dezdrick Lindsay started his 20th birthday with quite the present on Wednesday as the Bucs guard was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week in a release by the National Office.

Lindsay lit it up in a pair of big Citrus Conference games for the Bucs last week, averaging 34 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 68% from the field for FSW.  Wednesday he came off the Bucs bench for his second 30 point performance of the season, hitting on 12-18 from the field and racking up 30 points while also hauling in a game high 13 rebounds in a 97-93 win over Indian River.  Saturday he upped his production even more, pouring in a career high 38 points on 15-22 shooting in a tough 109-106 overtime loss to #4 Daytona State.

Lindsay has been the bell cow for the Bucs this season, leading them to a 17-5 record and a Top 25 National Ranking thus far, averaging 17.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from the field and 46% from the three point line.

Lindsay and the Bucs are back home tonight in a huge Citrus Conference matchup at 7 PM with #14 Eastern Florida in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
